I sat in my truck on a rainy night in Grand Marais, MN and painted this little street as I waited for my clothes to dry in an adjacent laundromat. I wanted to practice nocturnes and I loved the way the lights shone on the wet pavement and the grey skies seemed to have a purple glow in the dark. I wanted to capture the bit of magic in that atmosphere.
